With the ushering in of globalisation in 1991, India’s trade links with all the regions of the world have increased.
Trade policy reforms like simplification and streamlining of procedures and incentive to exports have created a free environment for trade. Imports are being gradually liberalised to facilitate flow of inputs which in turn is helping in widening and modernising the indigenous production base.
This has added new dimensions in terms of theoretical perspectives and management practices in the domain of international business
Building of human resources for meeting the challenges of globalization and exponential rise in international business related activities has become top most priority. The concept of globalization in the present-day context provides scope for students of management schools in India to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in international commerce and business. India is one of the few countries which enjoy a conducive environment to meet the challenges and match the global needs, especially with regard to competence and communication skills in English. However, there is still a dearth of institutions which have engaged themselves in this process. GBS has again provided the leadership in this area in the Eastern Region of the country, through the introduction of a curriculum geared to meet the increasing need of qualified human resources by the Nation’s external trade sector.

GBS has designed an exhaustive international business curriculum which has been benchmarked against other international institutions and leading institutions in India. We have also obtained the views of experts in the field – academicians and business leaders and the inputs have been deliberated upon and discussed at length before seeking the concurrence of a high powered Academic Council. The institute has forged international alliance with the University of Glasgow offering the students of GBS an opportunity to pursue M. Sc. in International Management / International Marketing at the University of Glasgow. We also have an alliance with the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) and they have been an active partner in the development of our curriculum. Our students are awarded a certificate by FIEO on successful completion of the course at GBS, in recognition of this alliance.
All papers taught in GBS are updated according to current global industry standard & classifications and vetted by academic council to make sure that the courses are relevant and up to date according to industry expectations and new developments in the field of study.
